Istanbul - Jan 2014

Shots from Istanbul? Yeah, why not?! Shortly after my trip to Piatra Mare I went to Istanbul, Turkey. So without further delay, here are the pictures I grabbed during my latest incursion into ottoman territory.

Piatra Mare - Jan 2014

Pictures taken on Mountain Piatra Mare during a two-day trip I took this year in the first weekend of January. Far as I recall, the hike from Dambul Morii (the start location) to the gorge called "Canionul 7 Scari" takes one or two hours, while the rest of the hike to Chalet "Piatra Mare" (1628m) ends in another three hours. So from start to finish, you should be able to get to the chalet in about 4 to 5 hours. To reach summit Piatra Mare (1844m) from the chalet and then get back you need one hour and a half including the time you'll spend absorbing the panorama. Finally, for the return journey, it'll take roughly four hours to get back to Dambul Morii if you choose the path near "Pestera de gheata" ("The Ice Cave") and "Sirul stancilor" ("The Cliff Line").

Sufletul lui Avram Iancu

Vorba lui Nea Panainte care sta pe Plevnei, spusa azi in Cimitirul "Eternitatea" la Barlad:
Nici n-am inceput sa mor bine si ma intreaba cui las casa.
Citatul din titlu e injuratura aceluiasi Nea catre cei care-l intreaba.
